TYPES OF SMALL ANIMAL FOOD
There are two main types of small animal pet food:
Pellets and Extruded Foods – the raw materials are ground down to produce a uniform kibble or pellet. Small pets find this format attractive and it means that each mouthful delivers uniform nutrition.
Muesli Mixes- a coarse mix of cereals, seeds, dried fruits and forages. Some pets eat the ingredients they like first and leave the rest – this is called selective feeding. If they do not eat the whole mixture, they are at risk of nutritional imbalance.
